Flavio Lucchini Designed Armani Logo, Opens Tribute Exhibition
Flavio Lucchini, the 97-year-old founder of Vogue Italia and L'Uomo Vogue, reveals in an interview that he personally designed the iconic Giorgio Armani logo using the Bodoni font from Vogue. The logo was created overnight in the 1970s when Armani and his business partner Sergio Galeotti sought Lucchini's advice after breaking with Nino Cerruti. Lucchini offered Armani six pages of free advertising in L'Uomo Vogue and crafted the logo himself. To honor his long friendship with Armani, who died on September 4, 2025, Lucchini organized the exhibition "Grazie Giorgio – L'influenza di Giorgio Armani nelle opere di Flavio Lucchini" at his FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum in Milan. The show, free and open until November 28, features sculptures and paintings inspired by Armani's work. Lucchini, who also created Superstudio, reflects on his career spanning fashion, publishing, and art, and his encounters with figures like Andy Warhol, Man Ray, Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Ettore Sottsass, Mario Schifano, Hubert de Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, and Issey Miyake.
