Flavio Favelli: Memory, Objects, and the Gaze in Dialogue
Flavio Favelli, born in Florence in 1967, earned a degree in Oriental History from the University of Bologna and was involved in the Link Project from 1995 to 2001. He has held solo exhibitions at venues such as MAXXI Rome, Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Maison Rouge in Paris, and 176 Projectspace in London. Favelli participated in Italics at Palazzo Grassi in 2008 and exhibited at two Venice Biennales. In 2008, he produced Sala d'Attesa at Certosa di Bologna. His 2015 work Gli Angeli degli Eroi honored fallen soldiers. His 2019 publication Bologna la Rossa intertwines personal and collective memories. He painted Here He Is! for the International Public Art Festival in Cape Town in 2020 and created the Oro Venezia series, inspired by childhood recollections.
