Flavia Renault's 'Casa Corpo' exhibition marks 30-year career with glass installations and edible painting
Flavia Renault's solo exhibition, titled 'Casa Corpo,' is being held at the Fonte gallery in São Paulo from April 1 to April 25, marking three decades of her artistic journey. Curated by Paula Borghi, the show showcases approximately 50 pieces that delve into themes of life, death, and rebirth through the lens of everyday items and personal recollections. Renault draws inspiration from Mineiro Baroque and her family’s history, incorporating various mediums such as drawing, painting, sewing, and embroidery, along with documents and photographs from her archive. A standout piece is the reconfigured 1999 installation 'Sapatinho de Cristal,' featuring 3,000 glass cups that pay homage to her family's glassmaking tradition. Additionally, the exhibition presents 'Coluna' (2026), a stack of glass cups, and an edible artwork available on the opening day. Borghi emphasizes that Renault's creations unveil fundamental energies and spiritual insights.
