Flat Time Is the Right Time: Pier Luigi Gibelli Collection on View in Jesi and Senigallia

The exhibition 'Flat Time Is the Right Time: Corpi, luoghi e nature morte dalla collezione Pier Luigi Gibelli' runs through June 2, 2026, at Palazzo Bisaccioni in Jesi and Palazzo del Duca in Senigallia. Curated by Roberto Maggiori and Luca Panaro, the show translates their 2025 book of the same title (published by Editrice Quinlan) into a two-venue display. The book and exhibition present a selection from one of Italy's leading private collections of historical and contemporary photography. The show is divided into three thematic sections: Bodies (at Jesi), Places, and Surfaces and Still Lifes (both at Senigallia). It features 130 photographers, roughly half international, including Sophie Calle, Nobuyoshi Araki, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Robert Doisneau, Elliot Erwitt, Walker Evans, Olivo Barbieri, Gabriele Basilico, Paola Pivi, and Mario Giacomelli. The exhibition is organized by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Jesi and aims to provide a 'pedagogy of the image' amid contemporary visual overload.
