Flashback fair moves to larger venue at Pala Alpitour Isozaki in Turin

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

Flashback, the Italian fair dedicated to modern and ancient art, relocates to a 5,000 sqm space within the Pala Alpitour Isozaki for its fifth edition (November 2–5, 2017), doubling its previous 2,000 sqm. The fair adopts a science fiction theme titled "In senso inverso" (subtitle: "il suo appuntamento è fissato per ieri"), referencing Philip K. Dick's 1967 novel. Co-founders Ginevra Pucci and Stefania Poddighe aim to increase the number of galleries and focus more on modern art. The new layout will reflect the sci-fi concept. A second edition of "Collecting the beauty" summer school runs from June to November, culminating at the fair. A major exhibition of Philip King, post-war British sculptor and former director of the Royal College of Art, is planned. The parallel project Opera Viva Barriera di Milano, curated by Christian Caliandro and conceived by Alessandro Bulgini, returns for its second edition starting May 31 in Piazza Bottesini. Six artists will sequentially occupy a 3x6 meter advertising space until November 1. The first artist is Raffaele Fiorella (born 1979 in Barletta), inspired by Giacomo Leopardi's "Operette morali." The project builds on Bulgini's earlier works "Decoro urbano in Barriera di Milano" (2014) and "Taranto Opera Viva" (2015, 2017).
