Five Upcoming Video Games Highlighted at E3 and Summer Events

The summer season brought a wave of video game announcements, with E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) in Los Angeles and surrounding digital events like Ubisoft Forward, Guerrilla Collective, Steam Next Fest, State of Play, EA Play Live, Annapurna Interactive Showcase, and Nintendo's Indie World Showcase. From these, five notable titles were selected. 'Grotto' by Brainwash Gang and Digerati casts players as a Soothsayer interpreting constellations for anthropomorphic animals, releasing on PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. 'Letters – a written adventure' by 5am Games GmbH and PID Games is an interactive epistolary narrative where players guide Sarah through her life from the 1990s, manipulating words to shape her story; it launches on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch in 2021. 'Severed Steel' by Greylock Studio and Digerati is a fast-paced first-person shooter emphasizing acrobatics and destructible environments, coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. 'Storyteller' by Daniel Benmergui and Annapurna Interactive, first heard of in 2008, lets players solve puzzles by constructing comic strip narratives; a demo is on Steam, and the full game will be on PC and Nintendo Switch. 'TOEM' by Something We Made is a photography-focused exploration game with black-and-white diorama-style graphics, releasing on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch in 2021.
