Five Spring Exhibitions in Reggio Emilia Galleries

Five galleries in Reggio Emilia, part of the "In Contemporanea" network coordinated by Margherita Fontanesi, have opened solo shows from May 4 to June 1, 2019. The initiative stems from a collaboration with the Associazione Culturale Arteam and its prize: in 2018, gallerists selected artists from the contest. The five artists are Evita Andújar (Galleria de' Bonis), Patrizia Novello (Vicolo Folletto Art Factories), Gianluca Patti (Bonioni Arte), Serena Piccinini (Galleria 8,75 Artecontemporanea), and Alice Faloretti (1.1_ZENONECONTEMPORANEA). Andújar's paintings, from her Stolen Selfies series, are based on Instagram selfies, rendered with liquid brushstrokes. Novello's works feature typewriter fonts and autobiographical texts, referencing a found family manual. Patti uses industrial materials like resin and bubble wrap, creating informal compositions with chromatic layers. Piccinini focuses on insects and natural elements, crafting artificial meadows and botanical specimens. Faloretti, the youngest, paints dreamlike scenes in oil on canvas, exploring the theme of limits and thresholds. The shows are curated by Chiara Serri.
