Five Roman Galleries Converge in Abruzzo for Collettiva#2

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The second edition of Collettiva, a group show organized by Monitor gallery, opened in Pereto, Abruzzo. Five Roman galleries—Magazzino, Gilda Lavia, Operativa, ADA, and The Gallery Apart—each independently selected artists and works, yet the exhibition coheres around themes of perception, digital reality, and sensory experience. Monitor, led by Paola Capata, coordinated the event at its Abruzzo location. The Gallery Apart presents Federica Di Pietrantonio, who uses screenshots from her video "but I wanna keep my head above water" to explore the blurring of private and public spaces via The Sims, and Florian Neufeldt, whose work "Live Wires #1" combines photography and a chair. Gilda Lavia features Pamela Diamante's "5 minuti per indurre un'assenza" (2015), a performance attempting to induce an epileptic absence through hyperventilation, framed as an aesthetic-poetic act. Magazzino exhibits Domenico Mangano & Marieke van Rooy's ceramic sculptures from the "Diluition Cafeteria" project, referencing 1960s sensory cafeterias for psychiatric patients. Operativa shows Marco Emmanuele's first glass-powder painting (2019) from recycled bottles, alongside a perforated screen work "Quanto silenzio nei giorni di festa" (2022) that evokes voyeurism. ADA presents Andrea Mauti (b. 1999), whose paintings blend archaeological fragments with sci-fi elements, inspired by zombies, Asimov, and Preciado's "Can the monster speak?" The exhibition runs at Monitor's Pereto space.
