Five new art books: from rave culture to Alberto Savinio

A roundup of five recently published art books recommended by Artribune. The selection includes McKenzie Wark's 'Raving', which explores rave as a collective cure through participatory narrative; Santiago Zabala's 'Solo l’arte può salvarci', a socio-political analysis arguing that artists may offer an alternative to the current state of permanent emergency; the 'World Press Photo 2023' volume, published for the first time by Marsilio, collecting award-winning photojournalism; 'Sul design' by Anni Albers, a collection of fifteen texts spanning practical and philosophical aspects of design; and 'Scritti sull’arte e sugli artisti' by Alberto Savinio, edited by Elena Pontiggia, which gathers his writings on Italian and foreign art. The books were released in 2022-2023 by various Italian publishers: not (Roma), Politi Seganfreddo Edizioni (Milano), Marsilio (Venezia), Johan & Levi (Monza), and Abscondita (Milano).
