Five Must-See Photography Exhibitions in Italy for 2019

Italy's 2019 photography calendar is notably rich, featuring major retrospectives and festivals. Highlights include Sandy Skoglund's first Italian retrospective at CAMERA in Turin, curated by Germano Celant, showcasing works from the 1970s to the unreleased 'Winter' (over a decade in the making). Letizia Battaglia's exhibition at Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice presents 200 images, many unseen, curated by Francesca Alfano Miglietti. Franco Fontana's 'Sintesi' at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive spans 60 years of his career. Vivian Maier's show at Scuderie del Castello Visconteo in Pavia features 100 photos and super 8 films.
