Five Must-See Photo Exhibitions in Paris This Summer

Paris is hosting five major photography exhibitions this summer, spanning from war photography to contemporary staged images. At the Musée d'Art Moderne, a retrospective of Lee Miller runs until August 2, 2026, featuring nearly 250 prints including previously unseen works. At Citéco, Canadian photographer Kourtney Roy's 'All Inclusive' exhibition critiques mass tourism through staged self-portraits, on view until September 20, 2026. The Musée de la Libération presents 'Robert Capa: Photographe de Guerre' until December 20, 2026, with about sixty prints and personal effects, critically examining the myths around his iconic images. The Jeu de Paume hosts two concurrent shows until September 27, 2026: 'Fragile Beauté' featuring over 300 prints from the collection of Sir Elton John and David Furnish, including works by Robert Mapplethorpe, Nan Goldin, Diane Arbus, and Irving Penn, and the first retrospective of Madeleine de Sinéty, who documented the lives of railway workers, farmers, and Breton families. At the Musée d'Orsay, Franco-Egyptian photographer Youssef Nabil's 'De rêver encore' runs until September 13, 2026, presenting his hand-colored silver prints in dialogue with Orientalist paintings.
