Five Must-See London Exhibitions for June 2026
London's June 2026 art calendar features five notable exhibitions across the city. At Cristea Roberts Gallery, Yinka Ilori presents 'Joy Through Resistance: He Who Laughs Last, Laughs Best' (5 June–11 July), with over 20 works in painting, printmaking, sculpture, and immersive sound, exploring British Nigerian heritage and joy as political act. Lisson Gallery hosts Lubaina Himid and Magda Stawarska's 'Zanzibar' (4 June–22 August), reuniting Himid's 1999 abstract diptychs with a 38-minute sound composition by Stawarska, meditating on memory and displacement. Maureen Paley presents Delaine Le Bas's 'Leap' (4 June–25 July), the artist's first exhibition at the gallery, featuring the sculptural figure 'The Goddess' assembled from found objects and textiles, addressing Romani identity. Maximillian William shows Reginald Sylvester II's 'Until Then' (4 June–August), with paintings using rubber on aluminum and discarded military shelter halves, interrogating abstraction's political histories. Gallery 1957 London presents Freya Tewelde's 'Geometry of Elsewhere' (5 June–25 July), marking her shift to abstraction with layered compositions exploring diaspora and belonging, opening during London Gallery Weekend.
