Five Major Art Fairs Proceed in March 2020 Despite Coronavirus Concerns

Despite the Coronavirus outbreak that led to the cancellation of Art Basel Hong Kong, five major international art fairs are proceeding in March 2020 with enhanced health and safety measures. The Armory Show in New York (March 5–8) hosts 178 exhibitors from 31 countries at Piers 90 and 94, featuring sections like Galleries, Presents, and a new curated program on Pier 90 including Perspectives, Focus, and Platform. Collectible in Brussels (March 5–8) returns for its third edition at the Vanderborght building, focusing on 21st-century collectible design. TEFAF Maastricht (March 7–15) at MECC presents 280 exhibitors across eight sections including TEFAF Showcase for emerging galleries. Art Fair Tokyo (March 19–22) at Tokyo International Forum marks its 15th edition with 147 exhibitors from 29 cities, themed 'With Art,' and is the largest edition by exhibition space. Art Dubai (March 25–28) at Madinat Jumeirah features 90 galleries from 38 countries, with a focus on the Global South and curated sections. In Italy, MIA Photo Fair has been postponed, and Salone del Mobile has been moved from April to June.
