Five French Outsider Artists Debut in Genoa

A group exhibition titled "Les labyrinthes de l'imaginaire" is currently showcasing five French outsider artists—David Abisror, Izabella Ortiz, Evelyne Postic, Philippe Azema, and Jean-Pierre Nadau—at Galleria M&M in Genoa, in partnership with Marseille's Galerie Polysémie. This marks the Italian debut for three of the artists. The exhibition will be open until May 6, 2017. François Vertadier, the founder of Galerie Polysémie, represents these artists, who utilize various techniques: Abisror's precise pencil work illustrates hair, eyes, and Buddhist forms; Ortiz's dynamic automatic writing forms spirals; Postic's pastels delve into species evolution; Azema's stylized figures draw from cave art; and Nadau's chaotic landscapes are crafted with India ink. Vertadier, who opened his gallery in 2013, aims to highlight outsider art amidst a DIY trend influenced by the internet. The exhibition also features Italian outsider artists such as Stefano Codega and Maurizio Zappon.
