Five Czech artists named finalists for 26th Jindřich Chalupecký Award

The 26th Jindřich Chalupecký Award has revealed its finalists: Vojtěch Fröhlich, Lukáš Karbus, Barbora Kleinhamplová, Pavla Sceranková, and Pavel Sterec. This award highlights young visual artists under 35 who are either born in or live in the Czech Republic, paying tribute to Jindřich Chalupecký, a key figure in Czechoslovakia's underground art movement. The winner will receive 100,000 CZK (approximately £2,600), which will help fund an exhibition and a catalog next year, along with a six-week scholarship in New York. Throughout the year, the finalists' works will be showcased at various events, leading up to Final 2015, scheduled from 25 September 2015 to 3 January 2016 at Brno's Pražák Palace of the Moravian Gallery.
