FIUTO Art Space: A New Gallery in Ripatransone Revitalizing Italian Provincial Art

FIUTO Art Space, a new contemporary art gallery, has opened in the small town of Ripatransone in the Marche region of Italy. Founded by artist Alex Urso (born 1987), the gallery occupies a 12-square-meter space in the town center and aims to showcase a rotating program of young, established, and mid-career artists. The gallery inaugurated in early summer 2023 with a solo show by Pasquale Gadaleta, followed by a site-specific project by Giacomo Giovannetti (born 1983, Senigallia) titled "Primapersonaleplurale," on view until November 4, 2023. For this exhibition, Giovannetti collaborated with his five-year-old daughter Nina, creating layered works using newspaper clippings, notebook pages, old photographs, and Nina's drawings. The installation evolves throughout the exhibition to engage visitors. Urso states that FIUTO aims to challenge the local territory to actively participate in cultural revival, rejecting seasonal tourism-driven models. The gallery is open three days a week (Friday to Sunday) and by appointment. Future exhibitions include Virginia Mori (born 1981, Pesaro) in December 2023.
