First trailer for Children of Blood and Bone adaptation reveals star-studded cast

The initial trailer for the cinematic version of Tomi Adeyemi's fantasy book, Children of Blood and Bone, has been unveiled, showcasing talents such as Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Lashana Lynch, Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Idris Elba, Ayra Starr, Amandla Stenberg, and Bukky Bakray. The narrative centers on Zélie Adebola (Mbedu) as she strives to revive magic in the enchanted realm of Orïsha, following its destruction by a tyrannical king. This book marks the beginning of a trilogy by Nigerian-American writer Tomi Adeyemi, who collaborated with Gina Prince-Bythewood, the director of The Woman King, on the script. The film is set to premiere in January 2027. Nevertheless, Adeyemi has distanced herself from the adaptation, requesting that Stenberg refrain from mentioning her in interviews.
