institutional · 2026-03-14

In 2028, the Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti will unveil the Musée & École Giacometti in Paris, marking the first museum solely focused on the sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Situated in the 7th arrondissement at the historic Gare des Invalides, this new establishment will span 6,000 square meters, a significant increase from the existing 350-square-meter venue in Montparnasse. Designed by architect Dominique Perrault, the museum will showcase over 10,000 items, including more than 400 sculptures, 100 paintings, and thousands of drawings. The permanent collection will display hundreds of works alongside a reconstruction of Giacometti's studio. Additionally, the complex will feature a creation school, a library, a bookstore, a café, a restaurant, and a green courtyard. Giacometti (1901–1966) was renowned for his elongated figures.
