First Edition Harry Potter Book with Typo Goes to Auction for €23,000

A first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, published in June 1997 by Bloomsbury in London, is being auctioned by Bonhams with an estimated price of €23,000. The book is one of only 500 copies from the initial print run and contains a typographical error on page 53 where '1 bacchetta' (1 wand) is repeated in the list of supplies Harry must bring to Hogwarts. This error was corrected in later editions, making the first edition highly sought after by collectors. The auction will take place in London on November 9. J.K. Rowling, the author, became one of the wealthiest women globally due to the series' success.
