First Anthological Exhibition of Sergio Perrero Opens in Turin
The first anthological exhibition dedicated to Sergio Perrero (d. 2020) is on view at Spazio Musa in Turin until June 25, featuring over eighty previously unseen works. The show, titled 'Sergio Perrero – Elogio dell’imperfezione,' spans his eclectic output across art, fashion, furniture design, and exhibition staging—including the Lounge of the Circolo dei Lettori at the recent Salone del Libro. Curated by Afrodite Oikonomidou, the exhibition highlights Perrero's textile techniques, combining painting and printing on fabric, and his reuse of design objects with chromatic interventions. The display is part of the larger Perrero Experience project, co-founded by Gino Piardi and Pietro Tassi, which aims to catalog and preserve Perrero's archive while continuing his practice of transforming unused materials into iconic art pieces. Since 2012, Perrero collaborated with major fashion and design brands through this initiative. The exhibition is accompanied by conferences, book presentations, and educational programs for art and design institutes.
