Firenze's Memorial Day 2020: Fabio Mauri's 'Ebrea' Performance Revived at Museo Novecento
On January 24 and 27 at 6:30 PM, the Museo Novecento in Florence will present a revival of Fabio Mauri's 1971 performance 'Ebrea' in honor of the 2020 Giorno della Memoria. The fifth installment of its Solo exhibition series, overseen by curators Giovanni Iovane and Sergio Risaliti, will showcase Mauri's drawings and paintings until April 30, 2020. Additionally, his installation 'Il Muro Occidentale o del Pianto' will be available for viewing from January 27 to February 23 at Palazzo Vecchio. Outside the museum, 'Chinese Whispers' by Simona Andrioletti and Riccardo Rudi will also be exhibited. From January 25 to February 1, the restored Memoriale italiano di Auschwitz will welcome visitors for free at the Ex3 center. Culture councilor Tommaso Sacchi emphasizes the significance of remembrance in combating hate.
