Finarte moves to Palazzo Capranica del Grillo in Rome

Finarte, the Italian auction house, has relocated its Rome operations from Palazzo Odescalchi to a new modern space at Palazzo Capranica del Grillo. The move, announced by Georgia Bava, Head of Modern and Contemporary Art at Finarte Rome, aims to better showcase contemporary artworks. The new venue features multiple rooms allowing simultaneous exhibitions of diverse works, contrasting with the frescoed halls of the previous location. Finarte has been present in Rome since 2017, with earlier activity in the 1970s, and recently merged with Minerva Auctions. The auction house covers sectors from Modern and Contemporary Art to Autographs, Prestige Cars, Fashion, Design, Jewelry, and more. Upcoming sales include a May 6-7 comic auction and a May 18-20 modern and contemporary art session. Highlights include a Richard Estes view of Venice, three private collections (Guglielmo Battistoni, Loreto Soro, Andrea Vignati), and a Banksy screenprint 'Applause' (2006). During the pandemic, Finarte shifted to digital auctions, achieving success with early online sales. The new Rome space is technologically advanced, supporting global online bidding.
