Final season of 'My Brilliant Friend' premieres September 9 on HBO
The fourth and final season of the television adaptation of Elena Ferrante's 'My Brilliant Friend' will premiere on HBO on September 9, 2024, and on Rai1 in Italy on November 11, 2024. Created by Saverio Costanzo and directed by Laura Bispuri, the ten-episode season adapts the final novel of Ferrante's tetralogy, 'The Story of the Lost Child.' The trailer shows the protagonists Lenù and Lila as children, adolescents, and adults, played by Alba Rohrwacher and Irene Maiorino. The series is set in Naples and Florence. The original novel was ranked first on the New York Times' list of the 100 best books of the 21st century, selected by a jury of 503 American intellectuals including novelists, nonfiction writers, poets, and critics, coordinated by the New York Times Book Review.
