Filsoofi Duo's 'Listening: The Fourth String' Debuts at Ismaili Center Houston

Raheleh Filsoofi and Reza Filsoofi presented their performance titled "Listening: The Fourth String" on May 22, 2026, at the Ismaili Center in Houston. This center, designed by architect Farshid Moussavi and situated on an 11-acre site owned by Aga Khan Foundation USA, served as the backdrop for the event. The artists crafted a ShahTár instrument on a Kermani rug, drawing inspiration from 18th-century Sufi musician Moshtagh Ali Shah. The performance featured Persian music, poetry, and interaction with the audience, alongside contributions from seven local musicians, including Will Adams and Laura Dykes.
