Filippo Minelli's 'Paysage' Opens New Piacenza Gallery UNA

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Filippo Minelli (Brescia, 1983; lives between Barcelona and Asunción, Paraguay) began as a graffiti writer in the 1990s, establishing a direct relationship with public space. His practice has expanded over fifteen years to include installations, photographs, sculptures, 3D prints, and scans, documented in a travel diary that analyzes communication systems and propaganda across Russia, Mauritania, USA, Mali, South Korea, Mongolia, Paraguay, Cambodia, Bhutan, and Europe. The exhibition 'Paysage' at the newly opened Galleria UNA in Piacenza presents this body of work, exploring how globalization and the virtuality of the web have transformed landscape and identity. Works include the photographic series 'Senza titolo,' public performances 'Silence/Shapes,' and 'CMP B/B' (2004-2018), an installation collecting materials from his travels: Italian marbles, Paraguayan waste casts, a flag with a Thai image, a damaged road sign, and a 3D-printed Bhutanese teapot. Each piece functions as a life excerpt, conveying a quiet lyricism while opening access to the nuances of modern living.
