Filip Mirazovic's Bodies of Marble and Porcelain

Serbian-born artist Filip Mirazovic, who resides in Paris, received his education at the École des Beaux-Arts, studying under notable figures such as Vladimir Velickovic, Christian Boltanski, and Dominique Gauthier. His artistic practice involves oil painting on linen and canvas, where he intertwines landscapes, interiors, and human forms. He employs materials like marble, porcelain, and chesterfield leather to symbolize the human body; for instance, marble veins signify blood vessels, shiny leather represents dead skin, and scratches allude to the true self hidden beneath a façade. His recent pieces, "Daughter" and "Son," were showcased in his solo exhibition titled Cryptomnesia at Plan X in Milan, emphasizing themes of introspective portraiture and ballet.
