Figure humaine revisitée à la Villa Arson et au Château de Villeneuve
The exhibition titled "Contemporary Art and the Côte d'Azur: The Time for Action – Act 1" is happening from June 25 to November 7, 2011, at the National Center for Contemporary Art at Villa Arson and the Château de Villeneuve/Fondation Émile Hugues. Led by Régis Durand and Zia Mirabdolbaghi, it showcases various interpretations of the human figure. The display contrasts works from the 1960s by Jean Dubuffet and Robert Malaval with contemporary pieces by Philippe Ramette and Natacha Lesueur. In 1961-62, Dubuffet presented a vivid representation following his stays in Vence, while Malaval's work, "Aliment blanc," features an organic movement. Lesueur views the body as a canvas, and Ramette injects a sense of deadpan absurdity.
