FIAF's Crediamo ai tuoi occhi competition celebrates 20 years

The FIAF (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche) is celebrating the 20th edition of its 'Crediamo ai tuoi occhi' photography competition, with a deadline of July 26, 2019. Founded in 1948 in Turin as a non-profit to promote amateur photography, FIAF launched the contest in 1999 to support emerging photographers. The competition offers two sections: 'Percorsi' (requiring at least 30 images, a CV, and a presentation text) and 'Autoedizione' (for self-published photobooks). Winners receive free editorial publication and an exhibition at the Centro Italiano della Fotografia d'Autore (CIFA) in Bibbiena during the Fotoconfronti event. Photographer Filippo Venturi, a past winner who also won Portfolio Italia 2017, praised the contest as a chance to test one's vision and produce a tangible book in the digital age. Ettore Perazzini noted that even second-place finishers gain visibility, including the opportunity to exhibit at CIFA, which attracts photography experts. The competition is open to all Italian emerging photographers.
