FIAC Launches Performance Festival Parades Across Paris Landmarks

FIAC, the Paris contemporary art fair, inaugurates a performance festival titled Parades, running from October 19 to 23, 2016. The festival blends contemporary art, dance, music, and poetry, taking place at iconic venues including the Grand Palais, Petit Palais, the Louvre courtyards, and Gare du Nord. Performances are scheduled at the Salon d'Honneur leading to the Palais de la Découverte, with evening programs from October 19 to 22. Notable participants include drummer and composer Uriel Barthélemi with Nikhil Chopra at Gare du Nord; Alex Cecchetti presenting 'Nuovo Mondo' at Palais de la Découverte; Alexandre Singh in conversation with Sam Stourdzé; Hoël Duret & Nicolas Paul at Grand Palais; and Cally Spooner closing the festival with a talk at the museum auditorium. The festival aims to energize Paris's art week despite recent disturbances in the city.
