FIAC 2020 Cancelled Amid Pandemic, 2021 Dates Announced for Grand Palais Éphémère

FIAC (Foire International d’Art Contemporain) has cancelled its 2020 edition, originally planned for October 22–25 at the Grand Palais in Paris, due to the COVID-19 crisis. Organizers cited an inability to meet exhibitor expectations despite efforts to overcome health-related challenges. Full refunds will be provided to all exhibitors for payments already made. The fair's 2021 iteration is scheduled from October 21–24 at the Grand Palais Éphémère on the Champ-de-Mars. This cancellation follows a trend of major art event disruptions, including Frieze's New York and London editions and Art Basel's Hong Kong, Basel, and Miami Beach fairs. Some events, like Art Paris, have proceeded with social-distancing measures. The pandemic has led to widespread cancellations across the art world calendar, impacting large-scale gatherings globally.
