FIAC 2016 expands with new 'On Site' section at Petit Palais, while cancelling Los Angeles edition
FIAC 2016, scheduled for 20–23 October 2016, will introduce a new section called 'On Site' at the Petit Palais, a historic 1900 building across from the Grand Palais. This expansion allows approximately 20 works to be displayed in the Galerie Sud, Pavillon Sud, Jardin du Petit Palais, and the esplanade in front of the building. According to FIAC's website, the sector enables galleries to exhibit in unique conditions near their Grand Palais stands. Earlier in 2016, Reed Exhibitions cancelled the inaugural FIAC Los Angeles, which was set to open that spring, and discontinued the satellite fair Officielle after only two editions. The Art Newspaper reported on these developments, highlighting the fair's strategic shifts in venue and programming.
