FIAC 2016: Early Sales Report from Paris Art Fair
At the FIAC art fair in Paris, Skarstedt Gallery sold George Condo's 'Untitled (Head N°1)' for $500,000 and Mike Kelley's 'Three Part Yarn Stack' for $275,000. Sprüth Magers sold Cyprien Gaillard's 'Untitled' to a British collector for $140,000 and Karen Kilimnik's 'The fop in Scotland' to an American collector for $110,000. Galerie Templon sold Jim Dine's 'I Am James Dine age 81' for $350,000 and Kehinde Wiley's 'Elizabeth of France, Question of Spain' to Parisian collectors for $145,000. Thaddaeus Ropac reported sales of works by Tony Cragg, Yan Pei-Ming, Robert Longo, and Georg Baselitz, whose 'Guidiamo' (2016) went to a German buyer for $500,000. Italian gallery Tornabuoni sold three works by Alberto Biasi—'Dinamica' (1996), 'Ingresso trionfale' (2001), and 'Dinamica notte' (2011)—for prices between $50,000 and $120,000.
