FIAC 2010: Paris regains its status as a global art hub

festival-fair · 2026-04-23

The 37th FIAC will take place from October 21 to 24, 2010, across the Grand Palais, Cour Carrée du Louvre, and Jardin des Tuileries, showcasing 195 galleries and nearly 3,500 artists. Among the new participants are Contemporary Fine Arts from Berlin and Lehman Maupin from New York, while returning galleries include Barbara Gladstone and Eva Presenhuber. In the Tuileries, monumental works by artists such as Jennifer Allora & Guillermo Calzadilla, Bruno Gironcoli, Subodh Gupta, Assan Smati, and Franz West will be displayed. The event coincides with the Marcel Duchamp Prize and Galeries Lafayette Prize. A vibrant art scene is further highlighted by new galleries in Matignon, including Gagosian, and exhibitions at notable institutions. Auction highs at Christie's (€94.5 million) and Sotheby's (€87 million) indicate a thriving market.
