Fête de la Nature 2026 at Jardin des Plantes on May 23-24

The Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle celebrates its 400th anniversary and the 20th edition of Fête de la Nature with a free weekend event at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris on May 23-24, 2026. The program includes a 'Bar à Plantes' offering medicinal plant-based kefirs, a 'Quand la fleur devient glace' stand with flower-flavored ice cream, and three gastronomy stands on the lawn of the Grandes Serres focusing on medicinal plants, echoing the garden's original purpose as the Jardin des plantes médicinales du Roy. A theatrical performance by Sophie Garmilla and Crystal Lesser, titled 'Savanturières', celebrates women naturalists and runs on both days at 4pm (reservation required). The 'Village de la Nature' features workshops (cyanotypes, terrariums, quizzes) and participatory science programs. All botanical garden teams from the Muséum—including Jardin des Plantes, Jardin botanique Val Rahmeh in Menton, Harmas de Jean-Henri Fabre, and Arboretum de Versailles-Chèvreloup—will be present to offer activities.
