festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The Fondazione Il Lazzaretto in Milan presents the second edition of Festival della Peste! from November 7 to 10, 2019. The four-day event explores the theme of old age, addressing topics such as time perception, memory, bodily transformations, and identity. The festival opens on November 7 with 'Volto Manifesto,' a video and manifesto by human rights activist Lorella Zanardo on the transformation of the face in the digital age. Performances include 'When the Towel Drops Vol. 1 Italy' by the Radha May collective, examining censorship and female sexuality in cinema, and a Dante-themed event by writer Gianni Vacchelli. Gaia De Megni, winner of the 2019 Lydia! Prize for artists under 30, presents a performance and exhibition at the Church of S. Carlo al Lazzaretto, mentored by artist Adrian Paci. Events take place at the foundation's headquarters at Via Lazzaretto 15 and other venues including ICA Milano, Casa Museo Boschi di Stefano, and Casa di Riposo Don Leone Porta. The festival aims to foster interdisciplinary contamination through art, dance, music, and psycho-physical practices, with free admission.
