Festival della Meraviglia explores wonder through art and science in Laveno Mombello

The Festival della Meraviglia, a multidisciplinary event blending art and science, will take place from May 12 to 28, 2023, in Laveno Mombello, a town on Lake Maggiore in the province of Varese, Italy. The festival aims to explore the concept of wonder in contemporary life, examining its sources in nature, human activities, art, technology, science, and the virtual and spiritual realms. The program includes talks, concerts, art exhibitions, workshops, and performances, with over thirty events across various local venues and more than a thousand seats available. Notable guests include mathematician Piergiorgio Odifreddi, who will give mathematics lessons, and architect and designer Michele De Lucchi. The festival is organized by the Municipality of Laveno Mombello and the Museo Casanova, with patronage from Regione Lombardia and the University of Insubria, and in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Europea, Alfa S.R.L., and Legambiente. Most events are free, supported by a crowdfunding campaign on Produzionidalbasso. The first weekend, May 12–14, features a rich inaugural program.
