Ferzan Ozpetek's 'Diamanti' Assembles 18 Actresses for 1970s Rome Sartorial Drama

Ferzan Ozpetek's fifteenth film, 'Diamanti', will be released in Italian theaters on December 19, 2024, distributed by Vision Distribution. The film features an extraordinary cast of 18 Italian actresses, including Luisa Ranieri, Jasmine Trinca, Elena Sofia Ricci, Kasia Smutniak, and Milena Vukotic, alongside male actors Stefano Accorsi, Vinicio Marchioni, and others. Set in both the present and the 1970s, the story revolves around a group of women connected to a large cinema costume atelier run by two very different but close sisters. The narrative follows a director who gathers his favorite actresses to make a film about women, eventually transporting them to a past where sewing machines fill a workplace managed by women, with men in marginal roles. The film explores solitude, passions, anxieties, and indissoluble bonds, blurring reality and fiction. Produced by Greenboo Production (Marco Belardi), Faros Film, and Vision Distribution in collaboration with Sky, 'Diamanti' was shot entirely in Rome. The screenplay is by Carlotta Corradi, Elisa Casseri, and Ozpetek.
