Ferrovie dello Stato launches Take Your Time art project across Italian stations
Ferrovie dello Stato has launched 'Take Your Time', a contemporary art project supported by Gruppo Hdrà and curated by Renato Fontana, featuring twelve artists creating works, special artworks, and augmented reality installations in railway spaces from north to south Italy. The project aligns with FS's new industrial plan structured around four business poles: Infrastructure, Passengers, Logistics, and Urban. The Urban Pole was inaugurated at Scalo Farini in Milan with four installations by Jonathan Calugi ('Una casetta piccola così'), Luca Font and Alkanoids ('Il gigante tatuato' and 'La mano'), and Parisi 1876 ('Light design Il fiore di luce'). A QR code at the installations allows visitors to listen to a musical piece composed by pianist Roberta Di Mario dedicated to the Urban Pole. Luca Torchia, Chief Communication Officer of FS, stated that art represents the best approach to urban regeneration, as it is itself regeneration. Umberto Lebruto, CEO of FS Sistemi Urbani, the lead company of the Urban Pole, announced plans to return FS properties in 2,200 locations across Italy to cities, focusing on urbanistic regeneration that brings social, economic, and environmental well-being. He revealed that this year FS will seek an investor for the Scalo Farini development, which will include a new residential, office, and hospitality district with over 65% public green space.
