Ferrari Unveils Amalfi Spider: A Refined Grand Tourer with Enhanced Performance

Ferrari has introduced the Amalfi Spider, a successor to the Roma Spider, featuring a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 producing 631 hp and 560 ft lbs of torque, a 19 hp increase over the Roma. The car adopts a brake-by-wire system from the 296 GTB, along with the ABS Evo system, improving braking performance. The soft-top roof opens in 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph and is available in four colors, including a new Tecnico Ottanio weave. A new exterior shade, Rosso Tramonto, evokes the sunset on the Amalfi Coast. The interior features physical buttons, a redesigned steering wheel with a red start button, and a horizontal 10.3-inch infotainment display. The Amalfi Spider accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph. Pricing is expected to be around $300,000, a 10% increase over the coupe's $267,000 MSRP. The car was tested on roads near Athens, Greece, and is positioned against rivals like the Aston Martin DB12 Volante, Bentley GTC Speed, Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab, and Mercedes-AMG SL 63.
