Ferragamo's New Renaissance campaign shot at Uffizi with Renaissance artworks

other · 2026-04-27

Ferragamo's autumn/winter 2023-24 campaign, titled New Renaissance, was shot by photographer Tyler Mitchell against original 15th- and 16th-century artworks from Florence's Uffizi Gallery. Creative director Maximilian Davis chose to juxtapose his sophisticated red, black, and gray creations with masterpieces including Giovanni Bellini's Sacred Allegory, Paolo Veronese's Annunciation, and Giorgio Vasari's Portrait of Alessandro de' Medici. The campaign video features models Vittoria Ceretti, creative consultant Zainab Jama, singer-songwriter Kelela, sound art director Yasmina Dexter, and Mitchell himself, presenting a backstage-like narrative. Davis explained that Florence, where founder Salvatore Ferragamo established the brand in 1927 by purchasing medieval Palazzo Spini Feroni, is the maison's spiritual home. The campaign follows Davis's previous Hollywood-inspired debut collection and continues his practice of drawing on elements of Ferragamo's history.
