Ferragamo Museum in Florence Reopens with Silk Scarf Exhibition 'Seta'
The Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence has reopened its doors, presenting the exhibition 'Seta' (Silk), which will be on display until April 18, 2022. This exhibition honors Fulvia Ferragamo, who passed away in 2018, and emphasizes her influence on ties and scarves since 1971. Curated by Stefania Ricci, it is divided into nine sections that outline her career. In the 1960s, Ferragamo began acquiring scarves from outside sources, including a notable 1961 piece by Alvaro Monnini. In the 1970s, Fulvia launched a continuous production of silk accessories with designs from Como. The exhibition also features a site-specific installation by Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, alongside a short film by Irene Montini and Rocco Gurrieri. Additionally, Art Media Studio presents a multimedia installation inspired by four new fragrances associated with the maison's scarf designs.
