Fernando Campana on Dreams, Night, and the New Notturno #1 Exhibition in Rome

The exhibition 'Notturno #1' is currently on view at Galleria Giustini/Stagetti in Rome, featuring works by Brazilian brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana. The show explores their creative process, displaying Fernando's sketches and inspirations alongside finished pieces. The Campana brothers are known for their industrial design and limited editions, with works in museums like MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs. In an interview, Fernando discusses his special relationship with Italy, describing Rome as a sensual city. He explains that the night and dreams serve as filters for visualizing sensations and truths. The brothers collaborate closely, having grown up together. For new works, they used high-quality synthetic fur from German company Steiff to achieve a teddybear effect. Fernando notes that to understand the macro, he explores the micro, such as bacteria forms. The exhibition runs until shortly before the interview date in November 2018.
