Fernando Botero's works exhibited in Agrigento and Palermo, Sicily
Two exhibitions of Fernando Botero's works open in Sicily: 'L'incanto del Mito' at Villa Aurea and the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento from July 23, and 'Il peso dei sogni' at Palazzo Riso in Palermo from July 24. The shows feature 37 works from the Fernando Botero Zea Collection, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sculptures. Curated by Fernando Botero Quintana and Nicola Barbatelli, the exhibitions explore the dialogue between Botero's voluminous figures and classical heritage in Agrigento, while the Palermo show focuses on memory and physical presence, including the sculpture 'Serpente'. The project was presented with Colombian ambassador Ligia Margarita Quessep Bitar and the artist's son Fernando Botero Zea.
