Fernanda Laguna's First New York Solo Exhibition at The Drawing Center

The Drawing Center is hosting Fernanda Laguna's first solo exhibition in New York, titled The Path of the Heart, which runs until May 22. This showcase includes more than 50 pieces, comprising drawings, paintings, and collages. Renowned for her emotional depth, the Argentine artist crafts sincere love letters and diary-like creations adorned with doodles. In a 2020 interview, Laguna expressed her preference for personal connections over gaining acceptance in the art community. Notable early works include Te Amo (1994–95) with drawings on notebook paper and Un día más sin amor (2006), featuring handwritten lines and pink yarn bows. Additionally, No necesito nada del primero mundo (2001) presents a newsprint heart, symbolizing Argentina's 2001 recession. Recent pieces, such as Llorar (2017), display golden-glitter waterfalls.
