Feminist Project NUM Archives Creative Responses to #NiUnaMenos Movement in BIENALSUR

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The feminist collective Projeto NUM presents a living archive at the Centro de Expresiones Contemporáneas in Rosario, Argentina, as part of BIENALSUR. Titled "Recuperemos la imaginación para cambiar la historia," the exhibition documents creative impulses generated around the #NiUnaMenos mobilizations, beginning June 3, 2015. The collective, formed by Nina Kunan, Lucia Reissig, Laura Harness, Eugenia Salama, and Mai Lumi, compiles works from artists and non-artists alike, including visual arts, performance documentation, photography, literature, video, and installations. Their mission is to archive these diverse, non-hierarchical works born from feminist subjectivity and action, challenging cisheteronormative systems. The project was self-managed and collectively funded via the Ideame platform. A parallel exhibition, "Heroínas," opened in Tucumán in late May, featuring historical photographs of the Madres de la Plaza de Mayo. The NUM archive operates as a constantly moving collection, aiming to provide space for creations that imagine alternatives and re-readings of history through a feminist lens.
