Feminism Book Fair Debuts in Rome for International Women's Day

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

From March 8 to 11, 2018, the inaugural edition of Feminism, a book fair focused on women’s publishing, will take place at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Palazzo del Buon Pastore, Rome. The event is organized by a team including Maria Palazzesi, Giovanna Olivieri, Anna Maria Crispino, Marina Del Vecchio, and Stefania Vulterini. With over 70 stands from publishers such as DeriveApprodi, Donzelli, and Fandango, the fair will feature discussions, exhibitions, and a debate on March 11 regarding the progression of feminism since 1968, particularly in relation to #MeToo. Crispino highlights the irony of women being the predominant readership yet receiving fewer accolades and reviews in Italy compared to Anglophone nations. The fair seeks to emphasize women's roles in publishing.
