Federica Mutti's Macrocefala Exhibition at Placentia Arte

Placentia Arte in Piacenza is hosting Mostra Macrocefala, a solo exhibition by Federica Mutti (born 1992 in Calcinate). The young Bergamo-based artist explores the dichotomy between body and mind through a modern lens, reflecting on the creative process behind her conceptual works. The exhibition spans two rooms, featuring nine 'macrocephalic extra-melting' poems that trace the conceptual path. A wooden kneeling desk-pulpit, symbolizing the public aspect of contemporary society with its manias and idiosyncrasies, contrasts with the feminine lightness of the wall-mounted works, creating a non-discordant imbalance of forms. The pursuit of individualism meets concrete elements, where cerebral expression gives way to the creative act, as 'the body always advances.' Accompanied by intriguing texts, a tiny sculpture titled Capetto further overturns visual proportions, seemingly closing a debate destined to endure. The exhibition runs until November 26, 2016.
