Fatos Üstek (born 1980, Ankara, Turkey) has been named the new director of the 11th Liverpool Biennial, taking place from July 11 to October 25, 2020. The announcement was made by the Board of Trustees. Üstek, currently director of the David Roberts Art Foundation in London, will officially assume her role in May 2019, succeeding Sally Tallant. Her career includes serving as associate curator at the Gwangju Biennale in 2014 and directing the David Roberts Art Foundation since 2018. In London, she oversaw Do Ho Suh's largest UK work, 'Bridging Home,' commissioned by Art Night and Sculpture in the City in September 2018. She also curates shows at Tornabuoni Art gallery and sits on the acquisitions committee of the Arts Council Collection. Üstek co-founded Nowiswere Contemporary Art Magazine and has written for Mousse, L'Officiel, and Camera Austria.
