Fashion Revolution Week in Prato: Lottozero's Textile Innovation
Italy's Prato Textile District, covering 12 municipalities and 700 km², is home to over 300,000 residents. Following a downturn from 2000 to 2007 that led to a €1.4 billion drop in turnover, the loss of 10,000 jobs, and the closure of 2,000 businesses, the district made a strong recovery. By 2016, it ranked third among Italy's industrial districts, with an increase of €78 million. In a repurposed food warehouse in Prato, Lottozero, an international textile art network, has created a space for exhibitions and an open lab. They are hosting the Fashion Revolution Week, curated by Tessa and Arianna Moroder, with the Fashion Revolution Fair set for April 22-23, 2017, featuring designers like Violeta Nevenova and fabric suppliers such as Aviem Tessuti.
