Fashion photography exhibition at Fondazione Bisazza in Vicenza

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Fondazione Bisazza in Vicenza presents a fashion photography exhibition featuring works by Norman Parkinson, Milton Greene, Terence Donovan, Terry O'Neill, and Jerry Shatzberg, organized in collaboration with Iconic Images. Parkinson, born in London in 1913, pioneered a new style by photographing models outside studios in everyday settings like streets, beaches, and exotic locations, from the post-WWII era to the 1968 student protests. The show includes 3,000 shots of Marilyn Monroe by Greene and images of celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. The exhibition traces fashion photography's golden age in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Queen, highlighting designers Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Mary Quant, Cristobal Balenciaga, and Hubert de Givenchy. The 7,500-square-meter space also houses a permanent collection of mosaic works by artists like Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia, Ettore Sottsass, and Patricia Urquiola, plus a permanent installation by Nobuyoshi Araki replicating the Rouge Bar in Tokyo's Shinjuku district, and architectural photographs including a vintage print by Eugène Atget.
